Rebate program

A rebate is an amount paid by way of reduction, return, or refund on what has already been paid by the consumer.

It is a type of marketing tool used primarily as an incentive. It tends to be employed in attempts to increase sales and repeat business.

The mail-in rebate (MIR) is the most common. A MIR entitles the buyer to mail in a coupon or, in today’s technology-driven society, simply enter the required information in an online form, in order to receive the credit affiliated with the original purchase.
